2010 SUMMER CAMP

The Camps at Chesapeake

QUITE SIMPLY we want this to be the absolute best summer EVER for your child. Our emphasis is on fun, physical activity, and the development of positive character traits. Chesapeake’s trained and qualified staff offer a wide variety of age-appropriate, side-splittingly fun and challenging activities where campers learn about themselves while developing skills to last a lifetime.

There is a one-time registration fee of $30 per child. Please register early. SPACE IS LIMITED!

Register BEFORE MAY 14 to qualify for ZERO REGISTRATION FEES! Financial assistance is available.

 


Camp Irvington

Campers 4 to 10 years old (Six Sessions)

A traditional day camp, Camp Irvington is everything a summer camp should be… and then some! Arts & crafts, swimming, creek exploration, sports, cooking, group games, computers — this is your child’s chance to discover new interests, make new friends, and learn in a fun, healthy, and relaxed environment. Campers venture each week on an adventurous field trip (like roller skating or bowling) and enjoy a crazy TGIF-themed party each Friday. *Field trips subject to change.

  • SESSION 5: 7/12 – 7/16 Science Museum / Mad Science
  • SESSION 6: 7/19 – 7/23 Overhill Lake / Crazy Olympics

Field Trip Camp

Campers 9 to 14 years old (One Session)

Build your child’s sense of road-trip adventure as we journey to the Baltimore Aquarium, Six Flags, Kings Dominion, and a guided rock-climbing session in Richmond. Includes a four-night camping trip with an experienced, caring staff guiding your child in learning the basics necessary for enjoying overnight camping. *Field trips subject to change.

Sports Camp

Campers 9 to 14 years old (Two Sessions)

Geared towards active kids who simply love sports of all kinds, this is not your traditional “skills and drills” sports camp. Coordina-tion, strength, and dexterity-building activities include tennis, dodgeball, volleyball, softball, soccer, kickball, and more. Campers enjoy themselves under the careful supervision of a well-trained, educated staff, while building key skills, self-confidence, and strong bodies.

Water Sports Overnight Camp!

9 to 14 years old (Two Sessions)

This camp takes full advantage of our proximity to the beautiful Rappahan-nock River. Water Sport Overnight Camp satisfies those kids who just can’t get enough JELLYFISH-FREE, salt-water saturation! Waterskiing, knee-boarding, wake-boarding, tub-ing, and fishing opportunities abound. Add to that the hilarity, wisdom, and camaraderie that comes with overnight camping under the guidance of our profes-sional, outdoor-loving staff. Land-based recreational activities include capture-the-flag, ultimate frisbee, cooking, lacrosse, soccer, dodgeball, and more.

Sailing Camp

Campers 8 to 14 years old (Two Sessions)

Instill in your sea-farin’ child a life-long love of sailing, an appreciation of the wind, and a fine sense of nautical direction with this confidence-building, one-week sail-ing camp based at the Rappahannock River Yacht Club on Carter’s Creek. Campers will thrive in this small, attentive camp limited to a maximum of eight sailors.
